Tesla finally unveiled its Model 3 electric car on Thursday night. It's fast, it's relatively inexpensive, and it looks gorgeous.

Among its many high-tech features, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said all Model 3 cars will come with Autopilot standard. The signature feature of Tesla's 7.0 software update, Autopilot lets Tesla cars steer themselves, change lanes, avoid obstacles and even park themselves.

That said, many of those Autopilot features, like cruise control and the ability to change lanes and self-park, are what Tesla calls "convenience features," which can only be activated after you pay $3,000. And Musk confirmed to Tech Insider early Friday morning that Model 3 owners will still need to pay to activate those "convenience features."

It's unclear how much those convenience features will cost in the Model 3, but it'd be safe to assume they'll cost at least $3,000 to activate, like they do in the Model S and Model X.
