Today, Maserati revealed photos and some details of the 2013 Quattroporte, the latest version of the luxury sedan it has been producing for nearly half a century.
Over five generations, the Quattroporte (literally, "four door") has changed its look every decade or so, and the new model is the most gorgeous yet.
Maserati CEO Harald Wester says the car is one of three the Italian automaker will introduce in the near future, as part of an ambitious growth strategy to have 50,000 vehicles on the road by 2015.
The 2013 Quattroporte will debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January.
The first generation Quattroporte, introduced in 1963, was reminiscent of an Aston Martin DB5.
The second generation had a more square look.
By the mid-1980s, Maserati was building an especially long and boxy Quattroporte.
