McLaren unveiled a futuristic new concept for its Formula One car on Thursday.
The McLaren MP4-X is the company’s vision of the future of race cars, so it’s still very much a concept. But, like many concept cars before it, it’s packed with loads of high-tech features that could eventually find its way into real Formula 1 race cars.
Here are its most impressive features.
The McLaren MP4-X has an augmented cockpit similar to those found in fighter jets.
McLaren’s concept car also includes a brain-controlled driving system, meaning the driver could opt to control the car with their thoughts instead of hand gestures.
The race car is electric. Instead of being powered by one large central battery, the car is powered by thin batteries built into the car’s body.
